Sad Boy

from Fight Left In Me by Emma Cook

about

This is a song I wrote to try and manage the feelings I was having about violent attacks perpetrated by men against women. I turned this sadness and rage into sarcasm, because I didn’t know what else to do.

lyrics

Four or five and told you are a prize
Fifteen, sixteen, they don’t know you are alive
So so pretty, here for you you perv
withholding the love that you deserve
Asleep alone and hate when you’re awake
Mornings are cold and bitter you rage

Oh Oh Oh sad sad boy
Oh Oh Oh you’ve lost your toy
Oh Oh Oh sad sad boy
Oh Oh Oh you’ve lost your toy

Grown man, tall man, you are a gentleman
In the basement, you find your countrymen
Half lit screen lit you cry out for revenge
Angry little baby you will plough them dead
No no window to let the light in
Waging war on natural selection

Oh Oh Oh sad sad boy
Oh Oh Oh you’ve lost your toy
Oh Oh Oh sad sad boy
Oh Oh Oh you’ve lost your toy
